Coming Soon: Nintendo’s Wii Balance Board and Wii Fit
First of all, thanks to Dan for sending me a link to this story about a new piece of equipment that Nintendo has created for the Wii gaming system (Wii Balance Board) and the game it is used for (Wii Fit).
Miyamoto said during today’s briefing “when we were first thinking of the Wii we thought it would be a device located in the living room ..(and) relevant to everyone in the home. One subject we had to have was health,” he said. With Wii Fit, you can actually enjoy your exercise.”

After reading the story, the balance board sounded okay. But then I watched the video linked to from the story. Oh my…I want one of those! It looks like so much fun!
At the very end of the article, it is noted that the balance board will be mass consumer priced. At this time, I don’t have a Wii so to purchase one for only the Wii Fit would be mighty expensive. It does look like so much fun, though. I have tried a video game before to exercise (Eye Toy Kinetic), but it is only collecting dust. I’ll have to post a review with my thoughts about that game soon.
Needless to say, I probably will be watching for Wii Fit to hit the stores. It looks very interesting.

My son has been asking for the Wii since it came out but now I think I might want it even more than he does…LOL! The Wii Fit looks like so much fun!
