Craving Consistency While Losing Weight
I think one of the hardest things for me to master with losing weight is to not let life get me down. When I have troubles emotionally, I tend to do one of two things:
1.) Not eat. Starvation makes me feel like I have some control over what is happening in my life. I know that when my tummy is growling it is growling because I wanted it to.
2.) Eat a Whole Bunch. You live once. Might as well eat it up and enjoy the taste of that peanut butter and chocolate on your lips. Who cares if it ends up on your hips?
Oh how wonderful it would be if life would sort of remain constant while you are trying to lose weight. But it can’t. You have to learn how to deal with the ups and downs of life. That’s something that I am having problems with.
There are so many similarities here with paying off debt. Sometimes I control every penny and go bonkers when I find a penny in the trash. Other times, I’m cruising the internet looking at gadgets.
I crave consistency but you can’t have that with life. I have to learn how to deal with it. Perhaps when I figure that out, I’ll have more success with losing weight and paying off our debt.

I recommend making sure that you have breakfast, at least. It will help set a consistency for the rest of the day if you can make sure that you get that in.
Breakfast is without a doubt the most important meal of the day anyway, so you will come out ahead of the game even if you don’t eat enough the rest of the day.
Put yourself first. I had a lot of trouble with this. Work, kids, family and friends can really be demanding taking up all of your time and energy. You spend so much time giving to others that you have nothing left for yourself.
Try to take some time during the day for yourself and come up with a game plan for the following day. If you can anticipate the stresses and problems, you can come up with a plan to stay on track with your exercise and a regular eating schedule.
It’s really worked for me especially coming into my busiest 3 months of the year. My work and stress load has already started to increase and I am handling it pretty well.
Good Luck Tricia, keep working at it!
Starving at times is good. But please don’t starve in the name of diet – Slimming through starving is by far the most horrible methods of dieting. Starving is dangerous to health.

This sounds familiar :o) I had a great summer - training, eating well and losing weight but now I’m really strugging due to timetable changes and a lack of routine. I’m away from home three days a week at the moment which has thrown my gym routine. I’m injured which means I can’t run. I’m staying with my Dad and Brother who don’t eat what I want to eat, and want to eat out the whole time…. Plus there are other stresses which make me just want to give up
Definitely need to get back on track and just do what I can!!!
