My Average Weight Loss Per Week is 2.2 lbs
With using FitDay.com, I am able to run some reports. A few weeks ago, I discussed the fluctuations in my daily weight. Right underneath that chart is a table where you can see your average weight lost and I took a screenshot of it today.

My goal has been to lose about 2 lbs a week, and that is what the FDA recommends for safely losing weight. Sometimes it will be over or under, but I do want to keep tabs on my average weight lost because of my past history with crash diets. If I see that average weight lost per week start to creep up, I will need to sit back and take a look at what I’m doing.
Sometimes I say I’m on a diet and I’m really trying to stay away from saying that word. I’d much rather think of this journey as being a lifestyle change that will result in a healthy me for many, many years to come.

Tricia,
That’s great. Keep moving in that direction. Although you may have already posted your routine . . . I’d be interested in knowing more about what your program is (in broad strokes). Are you utilizing a combination approach of taking in less calories while increasing your expenditure? Are you focused on cardio or weight training? My success has been a combination, with a large focus on lean muscle mass development (the more lean muscle you have, the more calories you burn). I do include cardio to reap the obvious health benefits as well. At my peak, I weighed 246 pounds. I now am down to 168-ish, depending on the day.
Keep it up!
Josh
That’s perfect. Great job!
To add my own personal experience to what Josh said. At my peak I was almost 300lbs. I lost weight slowly and also focused on adding muscles. So three and a half years later, I am only down to 215 or so, but it’s still coming off and I’m very happy with where I am and how I feel.

Thanks everyone!
Josh - I guess in broad strokes my program is to eat healthier (and less!) and get active. I would like to do more weight training, but I have to figure out how because I tend to hurt myself. I really need to fine-tune my game plan with exercise, but at this point if I do anything it is better than nothing. After changing some things, I REALLY see the error in my past ways.
Josh and 60 in 3 - Congrats to you both on your weight loss! That’s awesome!

Great job! Keeping track is just one way to stay motivated.
