Weekly Weight Loss Progress: 13.5 Total Pounds Lost

Wow. I was fearful of today’s weigh-in because I overdid it a little bit on Friday with some pizza. Man, I love pizza! Friday has been one of my highest calorie days, with eating 1,985.

With stepping on the scale this morning, I still see that I still made progress and lost 2.5 lbs this week. I have no doubt in my mind it is because our car broke down. Friday we walked to the grocery store and I chose to carry the heavier things home in my backpack (versus letting my husband do it) and on Saturday we had to walk farther to go to the hardware store to get some piping for our broken sink.

Two days in a row of good exercise. Perhaps we should consider NOT using our car more once we get it back. In any case, it’s something to think about.

Because I like getting a mental picture as to how much weight I’ve lost, I’m going to relate it to carrying liters of water. With losing 13.5 lbs, I am no longer carrying 6 liters of water everywhere I go.

My steps do feel lighter and I’m getting more energy. I am excited!

Whenever I try to picture how much a certain amount of weight is, I remember that glob of 60 lbs of fat that Oprah wheeled onto her show in a wagon!

Also, a gallon jug of water weighs a little over 8 lbs, so that’s a good reference point.

Congrats on your steady weight loss! My mom lost 30 lbs, 2 lbs per week, and has kept it off. I think any more drastic of a weight loss would be hard to maintain. Good job!
