Weekly Weight Loss Progress: 19.5 Total Pounds Lost

When I stepped on the scale this morning, I couldn’t quite believe what I saw…228.0 pounds. That means I have lost a total of 19.5 pounds. Since last week, I have lost 6 pounds.

Hmmm…

I haven’t written about it earlier, because I am perplexed why I lost so much this past week.

Earlier this week on Thursday, I stepped on the scale and saw 229. Nah, that couldn’t be right. Friday…same weight. Saturday…same weight. I was convinced I broke my scale so I enlisted the help of my son to weigh himself right after I did. Nope, it’s working just fine.

Having the scale go to 228 this morning, well, maybe I should quit trying to figure out why the loss was so great this week and be happy that I am close to having lost 20 lbs. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy about the weight loss. I am one of those people that try to figure things out and my searches on the internet came up blank.

It will be interesting to see what next week brings.

I’m so jealous!!! You are doing a fabulous job. I think the pounds may be dropping from you because of all this hot weather we are having (assuming MI is seeing the temps we are in IL).

What ever it is….just keep going with it. I think you must have awesome self-control!

Could be water weight, or could also be a female thing. I rarely lose weight during certain times of the month. Then I’ll lose more during others. Female hormones…

Well, if you’re losing weight the healthy way you’re not going to be losing more than 1 or 2lbs a week. That loss is going to be an average. So one week you’ll lose nothing and the next you’ll lose 3lbs. just keep a running total and measure your average weight loss over a long period of time. That’s much more effective then weighing in every day.

I agree with MVP. My weight losses drop like crazy sometimes and then slack off completely around that time of month. But really Tricia, you are doing a *fantastic* job! You are definitely an inspiration. Keep at it!

Hopefully this isn’t the case for you, but on occasion my scale is wrong because something gets stuck underneath it, so just an idea to check and make sure there’s nothing under yours. And it might only even cause problems if the person is over a particular weight, hence your son’s weight showing up correctly.

By the way, this is my first comment, but I’ve been reading your Blogging Away Fat/Debt blogs for a while, and I really admire you!

I agree with the time of the month thing. I’ve noticed big losses in the past at the beginning of my cycle (right after the monthly visitor exits).

My WW leader is convinced that weight loss also runs about a week behind. Since it has been about a week since your big exercise weekend without your car, that may also be a factor.

Congratulations Tricia. You are doing a great job. As someone who knows how hard it is to lose each and every pound, I applaud you. Keep up the good work. I love the fact that you include family outings such as hiking in your exercise routine. You are not only getting healthier, you are teaching your son a healthy lifestyle. Way to go.
