Weekly Weight Loss Progress: 9 Pounds Gained

Last week, I weighed in at 225 pounds. This week, I’m at 234 pounds.

I have lost a lot of steam the past few weeks. With my relatives visiting, I wasn’t eating as well as I should have and things carried over into the next week. I’ve also been in a big ‘ole rut in general.

I thought for sure I’d want to throw my scale out of the window if something like this happened. But I don’t. I’ve learned that weight does fluctuate a lot.

It does give me a swift kick to get my butt back in gear and get back on track. I was doing well with my eating and I felt healthier. I don’t feel that healthy right now and I don’t feel motivated. In fact, I haven’t even been updating my FitDay profile the past few days so I’ve lost a bit of data there.

Overall, a bad week last week. I need to refocus.

wow I’m sorry but I like your attitude. I know exactly how you feel and what you’re describing is real, what ~really~ happens as we try to learn how to eat properly and stick to a diet. I’ve recently experienced the same thing and it’s strange trying to track back and figure out what exactly shifted you and made you lose such momentum. For me, it’s as if I need to be in the same routine (no business travel, no family, no major events) for me to do well on a diet. unfortunately, life is not that way so it’s good to hit these bumps and learn how to deal with them.
I bet this week will be much calmer for you! wishing you luck!

We all have our off days, weeks and months. It does get better though, trust me. :)

Wow, I thought I was the only one. Keep at it and keep blogging. I’m inspired by your blog and a few others. I am about to setup a blog to follow my debt and weight loss progress.

9 lbs in one week!?! I’m sorry but there is really excusing your way out of that one. What have you been eating? You should post what you eat each day so that you have us readers as accountability.

Thanks everyone :)

P - I do post what I eat almost every day. There’s a link to my FitDay profile up in the right hand side under my weight information. I also post in there any exercising that I do.

There are a few days that I am missing from last week. Overall, I know I have eaten less than I used to.

But today, I am back on track ;)

Tricia,

Obviously the hope is that you will get right back on the path to weight loss…and given your attitude on both of your blogs, I’m sure that will be the case!

However, even if your weight loss stalls or holds steady, you can still vastly improve your son’s chances for a healthy future by eating healthfully (even if you are eat too much healthy food!) and insisting that your household eats healthfully. Sticking to new habits of eating a healthy breakfast (not sugary cereals) in your household, eating whole grains and unprocessed foods, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, and other healthy steps will improve your son’s health immensely and keep away diseases like childhood diabetes. And even if you overeat on the healthier foods, your health will still be better than if you gained weight by eating greasy food, transfats, etc.

Losing weight is so darn hard! I hope you start feeling like you are “back on the horse” soon.
