Weekly Weight Loss Progress - The Scale Finally Budged!
After weeks of having the scale stay at the same weight (220 lbs), it finally budged two and a half more pounds in a good way. I am now at 217.5 lbs. What that means is that I have lost 30 lbs total. Yay!
I didn’t do too much in terms of structured exercise this past week. I did, however, work outside a bit after work getting ready for our long winter coming up. That meant cleaning up the yard and taking care of some yard waste. I also spent some time playing outside with my son and practicing some t-ball. We also went on a beautiful hike last weekend.
Again, there are results when I just try to be more active in my regular life. Sometimes that is difficult to do because I am often drained of energy by the time I get off work. But I have to try to get myself up and active more often. Every little bit helps!

I’m glad that the scale finally moved again for you! Any bit that you get helps; the trick is making all of those little bits regular habits so that you can concentrate on adding more activity to your day.
Congratulations on budging the scale. It’s hard to stay motivated. I am trying to lose some weight too. I’ve noticed that I have trouble motivating myself to exercise also. It has helped for me to take my homework or something to read to the gym with me and walk for 45 minutes and get work done at the same time. It’s not as intensive as my usual 30 minutes of jogging that I used to aim for, but because it’s less intensive, I’m less resistant to going and doing it. I have no reason not too.
Also a trick I use is to cut refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup out of your diet completely and replace it with fruit juices and smoothies. It will give you more long-term energy and keep you feeling fresher and more active all day long so you don’t crash. The sweet fruit will help curb sugar cravings too. And if you have more energy, you are more likely to actually go work out after work instead of succumbing to fatigue.

Congras! It took me 6 years to lose 20 lbs, from 137 to about 115 now. I am short so 137 was overweight based on BMI. I got stuck for long periods around 132, 128, 125, and 118. With exercise alone I lost the first 10 lbs. The last 10 lbs was more due to dietary changes. I needed to lower my high cholesterol. It is now normal. Fortunately the same diet that lowers cholesterol also helps weight loss. 30 lbs is a huge accomplishment in such a short time. Keep up the good work and don’t get discouraged if your weight stuck at the same level for a while no matter what you do.
