When It Comes to Health, It’s More About Measurements than Pounds
The bathroom scale has been calling my name, so I decided to start researching about other ways to measure progress with my weight loss.
According to an article at Familydoctor.org, there are some measurements more important than pounds.
Body Mass Index (or BMI) - this measurement is based on your height and weight and is the determining factor when doctors determine if you are overweight or obese. For a BMI calculator, click here.
Waist Circumference - fat that collects in the stomach area is more unhealthy than fat collected in other areas. “Doctors consider a waist circumference too high if it is 40 inches or more in men, or 35 inches or more in women.”

I think I will still weight myself weekly and maybe if I want to peek during the week I’ll give into temptation. I think as things progress I will be less concerned about the pounds and more concerned about the measurements.
It will also feel nice to be able to slip into a pair of pants that I haven’t worn in ages ![]()
